Wal-Mart Offers Downloadable Movies, But Not How You Think

It looks as though Wal-Mart is looking to jump into the downloadable video market. But instead of taking the more traveled path like Amazon Unbox, iTunes, and Xbox Live Video Marketplace, Wal-Mart offers a new twist with its online service. It will bundle DVDs with the option to download the accompanying digital version from its website.
Wal-Mart’s first title with be a special “Superman Returns”‘ DVD bundle which gives buyers the option of also downloading the movie to playback on a portable media player ($1.97), desktop/laptop PC ($2.97) or both PMPs and PCs ($3.97).
