Husband Saws House In Half During Bitter Divorce

published on March 11th, 2007 . by joe

The 43-year-old homeowner, who is currently going through an unpleasant divorce, apparently decided to split the couple’s possessions right down the middle. So he cut their summer house in half with a chainsaw.
After finishing the job, he loaded his half onto a forklift and drove it to his brother’s house, which is where he is now staying.

Blog Changes

Ok, as you may have noticed, I had some theme issues recently.  I think they are all taken care of.  As you can see, there is a new look to the site.  I hope you like it.  I did use a premade theme.  I’m gonna look soon at the idea of making my own but for now, this one works well.

I also ditched the advertisements in the footer.  The return from them was much too minimal.  Please still pay attention to the one remaining block of ads though. :)

Abandoned Russian Embassy in Bangkok

I’ve always been really fascinated with abandoned buildings. This one look really cool. I guess I could understand the padded room but I wonder what the metal-lined room was for.

Many Pennies + Bar + Elmer’s Glue = Cool Place To Grab A Drink

published on January 27th, 2007 . by joe

This really does looks like a cool bar.

Like many penny hoarders, she was never sure what to do with all of them — until she and her husband bought a roadside bar and cafe in this speck of a town in California oil country near Bakersfield. Why not, she asked her husband, Mike, festoon the bar with the pennies? And he dutifully obliged the crazy idea, using regular Elmer’s glue to affix them from one end of the bar to another.
Job well done. Well, almost.
“I said that was a nice start, but I meant the whole bar, everything,” Mrs. Moore said with a laugh. She is the laughing one of the pair. Mr. Moore is the grumbler, and it is no wonder.

A bar built into a tree

published on January 26th, 2007 . by joe

The Sunland ‘Big Baobab’ is in Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo Province, South Africa and is famous internationally for being the widest of its species in the world. Africa is symbolised by these magnificent trees. The Sunland Big Baobab is carbon dated to be around 6000 years old. The Sunland Baobab has even made the front page of the Wall Street Journal!
When baobabs become a thousand years old, they begin to hollow inside. In the Big Baobab this has resulted in wonderful caverns and caves, where the world famous Baobab Tree Bar and Wine Cellar now amaze visitors. The tree bar can accommodate more than 60 people!
