Microsoft announces Windows 7 family pack pricing

I almost missed the news of this but yesterday, Microsoft announced the pricing for Windows Anytime Upgrade and the Windows 7 Family Pack.  Family pack bundling is something that Windows has needed for a while now and I'm kinda glad that the pricing seems pretty good.

Ever wonder if your website is blocked by a certain government?

In a world of internet censorship, it's hard to know exactly what your audience is going to see.  Certain governments (or ISPs) may block your site or change how your site is displayed to the user.  There isn't much that you can do to stop a nation like China or Iran from blocking your website but it would be nice to know that your website is blocked.  One way to know someone in every totalitarian nation but if you don't, there is a good option.  Just Ping has 37 servers around the world that you can use to ping a server of your choice.  It's not as inclusive as it could be but it seems to do a good job.

Unemployed? Why not learn Flex?

These days, it's harder and harder to find a job and some people are starting to look towards additional degrees to increase their marketability.  An additional degree can be a good thing but if you don't want to take such a large step, you always have the option of learning new skills on your own.

Adobe releases HitFix for CF8 FCKeditor vulnerability

It looks like Adobe has a HotFix ready for the FCKeditor issue that emerged a couple of days ago.  I'd recommend that anyone out there, that's running a CF8 server, take a look at it right away.

Google Chrome Operating System Announced

Well, despite the fact that last August, Google insisted that they "don't have any plans to build an operating system", google announced last night that they are coming out with a operating system "designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems."  I'm not sure how useful it would really be since it sounds like everything will run through the browser.  I'm also a little confused about google's plan to essentially have Google Chrome OS compete directly with Google Android in the netbook market but I guess, sometimes only google understands google's plans.
